The full course is 36 hours: 30 hours of classroom instruction and 6 hours of behind-the-wheel driving.

To get a learner's permit in Maryland, you must be at least 15 years and 9 months old, pass a vision screening and knowledge test, and provide required identification documents including proof of identity, Social Security number, and Maryland residency.
In Maryland, drivers under 18 must complete at least 60 hours of practice driving (including 10 hours at night) with a qualified supervising driver. This must be documented on an official practice log, and you must hold your learner's permit for at least 9 months.
